Nuke it with Neon

If Lady Gaga and Katy Perry's latest videos are any indication, the 80s are back in big ways, and I don't just mean shoulder pads. This decade was all about color, and like any trend what goes around will eventually come around again. The mix matching of neutrals with neon accents or unique color combinations like orange and purple is back in both small and big ways. However, this trend is a tricky one to master. Too many overpowering colors can quickly take you from trendsetter to an exploding highlighter. To avoid looking like the latter, here are some celeb style cues:

1. Don't go overboard like Kim K. did at a recent event pictured below wearing purple, orange, and green shoes. Too many colors is too much of a good thing. This actually results in a bad thing.

2. Do mix a neutral with a pop of color in a form of accessories. This was where Kim K. corrected herself when she wore a black blazer, blue jeans, and then added a pop of color with her Hermes lime bag pictured above. Her grandma even jumped aboard, sporting a hot pink jacket, with an all black ensemble underneath.

3. One style suggestion to consider actually comes from an O.C. housewife. Alexis Bellino and her new line of "Alexis Couture" gets it right this season. With colors ranging from baby blues to vibrant orange, this fashion label has pieces that are must haves. One of our personal favorites from her collection is an orange, light, and silky handmade short dress by Alexis and designer Tal Sheyn. While some people have doubted the housewife and labeled her as another brainless beauty, Mrs. Bellino has proven she can stand with the big girls. Perfect for a night out and right on trend, the piece pictured above, entitled "Paparazzi Love It," will have you getting attention for all the right reasons, and at $279, it is reasonably priced and worth it. To find out more about Alexis, the line, and the dress visit her site or http://alexisbytalsheyn.com/.

Whether you buy the dress or not, the bottom line is grab hold of the technological trend into fashion and nuke it neon this season. Just remember the key is balance. There can be too much of a good thing, or in this case, a trend.

The famous zip code has been home to a slew of famous people and TV shows, one of the latest being "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." While rumors have been swirling that Camille Grammer would not be returning in season 2 because of her impending divorce and nasty custody battle over her 2 kids with Kelsey Grammer, recent paparazzi photos have put that all to rest. Just a week or so ago, the leggy blond was spotted back on the set smiling and dare we say, eating, with frenemy Kyle Richards. That does not mean rumored replacement Faye Resnick still can't be a last minute addition does it? I guess we will all have to tune in to find out in the coming months.

If Nautical Nonsense Be Something You Wish...

...Then this summer your wishes will come true. From Ralph Lauren's revival of the sailor pant featuring gold buttons and wide leg navy pants, to Guess's red, white, and blue bikinis, the nautical look is back on deck. However, you don't have to burst your wallet to hop aboard. Tickets for this ship run cheap. In fact, Forever 21 has some hot nautical bargains. With striped cardigans, wide leg pants, and boatneck cut shirts, you can set sail without sinking your bank account. Pair these sailor pants, which cost a gentle $17.80 with a striped bandeau, and some wedges, and you are ready to hit the beach and the boards in style. You'll even have money left over to perhaps take a REAL nautical getaway and show off your new look. Set sail at forever21.com for more bargains.

A Leap and a Jump of Faith

Rocking the Romper

This season is all about the romper. From floral patterns to nude colors, this retro throwback comes in all shapes and sizes, and depending on the cut, can fit any body type. For example, Heidi Klum is pictured rocking the romper in a nude, flare cut. This works appropriately for her tall frame. The same goes for Kim Kardashian who is flaunting her hourglass figure in the jumpsuit. Even though the jumpsuit is baggy and could potentially make her look round, the key here is in the accessories. Kim makes the romper a hit and not a miss by adding a belt. However, not everyone is able to follow suit and rock the romper.

Ruining the Romper

Not all rompers are created equally. Some come in a skinny leg, some in flare. Others are wide-leg with v-cuts, and still others come with sleeves. The key here is body type. For example, skinny rompers may look best on willowy frames, while belted rompers and flares may help hide that extra jiggle of the curvy frame.

Kim Kardashian and Heidi Klum are just two examples of stars that make this trend a hit. They do it because they work with what they have. However, the same cannot be said for others.

One of the most notable trespassers when it comes to this trend is Jennifer Lopez. The usual fashion maven looks more like a fashion victim when she hit the carpet in a nude, sparkled romper. It is not the color, but the cut that makes it a miss. From the fit to the harem pants, the suit does not suit J. Lo. The cut shortens her legs and almost gives her the dreaded camel-toe. Perhaps if the suit could be flared at the end and a little looser, "Jenny from the Block" would be another celebrity to rock the romper.
