Japan's WOW

Today's words of wisdom were inspired by the tragic events that occurred in Japan. From detailed footage showing waves and screams, to the kindness of the survivors offering their little portions to American journalists, this tragedy has awaken humanity. Not only has it awakened it to respect for life and nature, but respect for the value of that life. It has inspired me to appreciate my life, if even a tiny bit more, and realize that the little I have can still go along way. That is why I donated by purchasing a Gaga "Pray for Japan" bracelet. The entire profit goes to helping rebuild. While I may not understand what people there are going through, I can still learn from mother nature. In this event is a lesson that Emily Dickenson, my favorie female poet and writer said and these are my WOW for the day: "that it will never come again is what makes life so sweet." So, please appreciate the right now, and live it, even though it may be hard. Because ultimately, as the tsunami has taught, God gave us today, but will He give us tomorrow?

Show The World Your Teeth

Despite religion, color, creed sometimes it takes a tragedy like the one in Japan to remind us that ultimately humanity is one. To show your support for the relief efforts, do like I did and purchase a Gaga bracelet for $5. Not only is it cute, but 100% of the proceeds will go to helping Japan recover. Gather little monsters and show the world your teeth and unity. The bracelets can be pruchased at Gaga's official online store now.

WOW: Work of Wisdom

Instead of the usual words of wisdom, today we celebrate a work of wisdom done by the great William Klein. William Klein was and still is one of the greatest fashion photographers. Shooting for Vogue and known for natural lighting and irony, did you know that Klein was actually trained in art and not photography? Today on this lazy Sunday I want to give a shout out to a man that changed the face of fashion by infusing art back into it. By taking the lines of reality and blurring them, let's honor him by revisiting one of his earlier pieces, "Gun 2." Taken in 1954 on a return trip to his hometown of NYC, the big apple here is not as fresh or sweet as people dream it. Like Klein, let us be reminded that sometimes reality doesn't need to be messed with to be art. Reality sometimes is the best art. Let us take note and be inspired today to go forth and find fashion and art in what is, not what is messed with.

Feathers Are in Fashion

From Mardi Gras celebrations to earrings, feathers are in bloom this Spring. The latest form: feather hair extensions. Being performed exclusively in Los Angeles, hair stylists from Planet Blue are advertising this new affordable trend. Cheaper than regular extensions, the new feathers are becoming a hit with Tinseltown and were most recently sported by the newly single Jessica Biel. What do you think: Will the feathered hair make it east or should they stay in California?

A Modern "Mad Man"

Mouret's latest FALL 2011 women's wear RTW collection took note from the hit series "Mad Men" in color and cut when it came to the catwalk. From furs to low cut cleavage, the cult classic was given a modern take. With sensual, but conservative silhouettes, the show bordered on boring, but the return of emerald during the final take, made the impression lasting.

Mugler Goes Goo-Goo for Gaga

Thiery Mugler took a lesson from the Hous of Gaga at this week's Paris debut of his women's FALL 2011 RTW collection. Not only did he use Gaga as a muse and model during the show while blasting her "Born This Way" track, but the label followed in suit. With hints of latex and see-through, the theme of the show was born in a similar sense, using latex and heavy colors, the theme was sacrificial/ritualistic and bordering on religious androgyny, and Gaga certainly proved its goddess.
