WOW: Work of Wisdom

Instead of the usual words of wisdom, today we celebrate a work of wisdom done by the great William Klein. William Klein was and still is one of the greatest fashion photographers. Shooting for Vogue and known for natural lighting and irony, did you know that Klein was actually trained in art and not photography? Today on this lazy Sunday I want to give a shout out to a man that changed the face of fashion by infusing art back into it. By taking the lines of reality and blurring them, let's honor him by revisiting one of his earlier pieces, "Gun 2." Taken in 1954 on a return trip to his hometown of NYC, the big apple here is not as fresh or sweet as people dream it. Like Klein, let us be reminded that sometimes reality doesn't need to be messed with to be art. Reality sometimes is the best art. Let us take note and be inspired today to go forth and find fashion and art in what is, not what is messed with.
