The ratings for the Oscars were High

Unfortunately, they weren't high in the traditional way. No, many critics said they thought the new tactic of attracting younger viewers using Hathaway and Franco was literally high! That is, many felt Franco gave a half-hearted effort in drawing laughs because he had been too busy smoking something funny backstage, while Hathaway tried to overcompensate for what he was lacking.
I think Franco just has a lot on his plate, and while Hathaway was trying too hard he was too tired from getting his doctorate to care enough. Yes, the results were boring, but when you realize there are more important things going on in the world then watching predictable nominations come to fruition for rich entertainers you don't care enough either. What do you think? Leave a comment with your take on it below.
